Cruise on Carnival Dream!

The kids and I left beautiful Costa Rica and flew to Orlando, Florida.  We met up with my childhood best buddy, Elizabeth.  We had a comical thing happen when I went to the hotel room...there was a strange older man sleeping in the bed!  I could not figure out what was going on and even got Christopher to go in to verify...it turned out the Liz's parents had been visiting her all day at the hotel!  Liz and her mother were off shopping and her step-dad was snoring away in the room!  It made for a good laugh!

The next morning we headed for the cruise ship and what a place!  It was huge, fun, and we had a good time! We went to four ports of call, and had three days at sea.  The kids did lots of activities with new found friends and Liz and I enjoyed our reunion.  It was a terrific cruise and I would recommend it to anyone! Enjoy the pictures...
Brenda and Christopher leaving Port Canaveral, Florida for a week of fun!

My best friend, Elizabeth joined us!

Shannon enjoying the view coming into Cozumel, Mexico, our first port of call.

Shannon lounging in Liz's room, just three doors down from us.

Our room- Liz and Shannon getting ready for supper in dining room.

Here we are for the formal supper on the second night at sea!  Nice view of the ocean from our table...

Here is the Scarlet Dining Room, where we sat down to a wonderful meal every night...they even had a show at the end of the meal by the stafff.  Here you will see the staff singing on the steps to the right and left.

Elizabeth and Christopher.

The family before a great meal!

We couldn't resisit a photo op. after our good meal...what a place!

Christopher and Liz leaving the boat and going off to the beach in Cozumel, Mexico.

Playa Paridisio, on the island of Cozumel.

Christopher on the top right of the "ice berg" he played on.

Wow!  They served us very large drinks!

Christopher on the trampoline and bungy cord for a fun hop in the palm trees!

The place had a nice pool to cool down in too!

Liz and Chris entering the second port of call, Belize City.

The style of the buildings has a very Caribean flavor here.

We took a bus in the countryside to go to the Mayan ruins, passing small villages and I notices that most of the houses were on stilts like this one, apparently because of insects!

This is a cashew tree.

Liz at the Mayan ruins outside of Belize City.

Shannon and Christopher before they climbed to the top of another Mayan temple.

Liz and Brenda at the top of the Mayan temple.

Here is the river boat we took along the Wallace River to enjoy the animals and birds along the way.

This is a special kind of palm that is the home to birds that set up nests on them (they look like cones hanging off).

Brenda and Chris enjoying the breeze along the way!

The black things in the trees are monkeys!

Shannon and Liz stand up to get a better view of the manatees in the water!

We also saw crocodiles along the way!

We are back on the ship again...Liz and Shannon looking out from Liz's balcony to ours!

In this photo, we are coming into the port of Roatan, Hondurus...note the ship wreck from a hurricane in the years past, just sitting in the water.

View of our room from the balcony looking in.

Chris enjoying the front seat as we drive off to the beach on Roatan, Hondurus.

View of the villages along the water.

The beach we stopped at had a cute hummingbird that Christopher took a picture of.

Tabyana, is the beach we spent the afternoon at.

Nice beach!

What can I say, I was in heaven!

Liz drank a coconut drink on the beach.

Christopher going snorkeling with his friend and his friend's father.

There was such lovely coral and lots tropical fish just a short swim away!

Christopher and two of his friends from the cruise.

Christopher got to ride on the banana being pulled by a boat with his friends' family.

Off they go!

Brend and Liz after a fun day at the beach!

Christopher on a rare occasion of relaxing in the room, usually he was on the go...

Shannon in the dining hall where they gave her chocolate lava cake before the main course!  She really enjoyed joking with the waitors at the restaurant!

Auntie Liz got a kiss from Shannon after the meal!

Here is another view of our room, showing the balcony, Christopher slept in the bunk bed above the couch to the right.

Christopher was out late every night with the kid's club, dancing and having fun so sleep was an elusive thing! Here he is in his bunk bed snoozing away!

This was our fourth port of call, in Mexico but we stayed on the ship that day.

Liz and Shannon enjoying the ship.

Our hallway on the 6th floor.

Here is our door...I loved the Art Deco murals all along the hallways.

Brenda dining on the second formal night...the kids hung around for photos and then ate pizza and hung out at their clubs...it was just Liz and I.  We had a good time!

Liz looking lovely on our last formal night of dining!

Shannon made an appearance and had a photo taken with Anil, her favorite server.

Here I am overlooking the central courtyard area.

I tried out the slot machine for the first time in my life...I did not win!
