Travelling to Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica- Condo Shots And The Town of Quepos

Costa Rica, what a beautiful country! After three weeks in Tamarindo, we set off on another journey across the country to the rain forests of Quepos and Manuel Antonio.  The scenery along the way was amazing with rolling hills, ranches with grazing cattle, small towns with fruit stands every few kilometres, mango trees laiden with fruit, beaches, and jungles! When we made it to our destination, we were exhausted and then we had to walk up a steep hill rolling suitcases to lovely Manuel Antonio Estate Condos!

It was such a beautiful spot with the jungle all around and monkeys and birds in the trees!  The weather was totally different from Tamarindo, we went from dry and no rain, to hot and humid with torrential downpours most afternoons! I now know why they are called "rain forests". The place was right in the town of Quepos and a quick bus ride to Manuel Antonio Park.

On our first night we were sitting in the living room when Shannon yelled, "Monkey, monkey in the window!"  I looked up and sure enough, there was a cute little monkey looking right in the window!  Over the week, the monkeys, iguanas, geckos, and birds visited us a lot on our balcony, by the pool, and in the trees all around us.  We enjoyed the town of Quepos, visited nearby Manuel Antonio National Park and had a wonderful in our tropical home away from home!

A beautiful bird in the tree at our rest stop place.

There was a monkey up in the trees too!

There was a beautiful toucan in back of the restaurant.

Brenda and the banana tree by the side of the road.

Christopher found a friend at the restaurant...a beautiful chocolate point lab.

The bird in the tree came for a visit at a table.!
Here we are at the entrance to Manuel Antonio Estate!

This is our condo, Manuel Antonio Estate...our room is on the top right hand side.

Here is the view of the pool below on a rainy day...what a great jungle setting.
This is the back view of the condo which was just jungle and no development...
it was very noisy at night with squaks and hoots from birds, insects, and monkeys!

These beatiful flowers were like a bird or paradise but in multiples....they were all over the property.

Brenda on the balcony in pj's in the early morning when the internet actually worked (but only in the far corner ha!)

We had a little visitor right in the tree by our balcony enjoying a banana.

This is one of the iguana's at the condo.

Three monkeys stopped by on the balcony for a visit.
Our new friend, Uli, Christopher (as mini man), and Brenda in the pool.

Shannon and Christopher lounging around the condo.
I went to the outdoor market one afternoon and picked up an assortment of tropical fruits,
some of which I had never seen or tasted in my life!

This was one of the many beautiful birds I saw on the property.

This is a night shot with large trees back lit by a lamp post during the torrential down pour....
when they say rain forest, there is a reason why!

The little gecko that was on our window ledge.

The waterfront of Quepos with a marina and a nice walking path that doubles as a outdoor market a few days a week.

View of Quepos- a friendly little town surrounded by jungle.

The Catholic Church in Quepos.

Lots of houses were perched on the hill, which was the direction of Manuel Antonio National Park.

The town of Quepos, with deep gutters and steps around the buildings due to the heavy rain it gets regularily.
